FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Please read these before beginning your application.  If you have any problems/questions not addressed below, please contact Town & Gown of USC via email at scholarship@townandgownofusc.org.  We will not respond to questions discussed below or covered on our website – TownandGownofUSC.org.

Unless you are under the age of 18 years old, please do not have your parents contact us as we are not able to respond to them.


What educational information must I provide?
All applicants must complete high school information. All applicable undergraduate and graduate information must also be completed. 


When does the application period close?  
On December 1, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (PT). There will be no exceptions.


When will students be notified?  
Applicants will be notified by the beginning of May.


How will I be notified of my status? 
You will be presented with a on-screen confirmation that your application was received after your application is complete and submitted.  Invitations to interview as well as declines will be sent to you via email.  It is your responsibility to check your spam folders on a regular basis in case our emails are misdirected to your spam.


How do I determine if I am a permanent resident of Southern California?


What do I do if I do not have a USC ID number? 
If you do not have a USC ID number at this point, leave it blank. Once you start to receive mail from USC, your ID number should be on the mailing label and then you must update your application.


I am a first semester student at USC and do not have a GPA, what do I do? 
Please enter 0.00


I am a GRADUATE student at USC in a program that does not give grades, what should I do? 
Please enter NA


Can I still apply for a Graduate scholarship if I have not received my admittance to USC?
Yes, you may apply for the scholarship prior to your admission to USC.


What does competitive mean in the Activity section? 
We want to know if everyone is admitted to the organization, is there a screening process, are a certain number of students admitted per semester, etc.
